But the introduction of the Internet has changed that drastically, and the boundaries of fads have expanded into a global, rather than regional, event.

Because access is given to anyone with an Internet connection, and because technology is changing and increasing, the bounds of what could once been shared across seas and borders has become endless.

Fads are traveling across oceans. Interests are being shared all over the world. Bands, television shows, movies, and books are being talked about, shared, and enjoyed everywhere, where once they were only localized within a continent.

This is also effecting the average citizens exposure to other cultures. In every country it is becoming more common to share a culture unintentionally, such as through music and television. Newspapers have gone digital, and so a story can be seen from the eyes of the local media.

All of these advances have changed social focus and popular culture forever. It is hard to image what further changes will be made within the next hundred years, and how we will view the changes that are cutting edge today.
